Flavours for Winter

Winter is a wonderful time but, is limited on fresh seasonal ingredients and most important local fruit and vegetables.
Most of these ingredients are coming from miles away and the quality is not as it's best. We tend to use spices to enhance flavour but also to keep us warm. It is proven that spices produces heat, not just in our palates but by rising the temperature of our body. So don't be afraid to mix and match spices; for desserts
I can mention some that are very pleasant and in moderate quantities they blend well together, specially with citrus like lemon and orange zest and juice. Here is a quick list of winter favourite spices around the world.
